Transportation and Cheap Hotels This page contains general information about Tokyo. If you want to take action straight away, please go to the tourist attractions in Tokyo page. Getting to know Tokyo Tokyo is a megalopolis where the city center and suburbs are difficult to distinguish because they are so dense and integrated. The so-called city center is the area within the Yamanote Line. Yup, this is the commuter loop line that circles the city of Tokyo. It's like ring 1 :) Areas that may be familiar to most of us are in this ring: Shinjuku, Shibuya, Harajuku, Akihabara, Roppongi. Meanwhile, the area outside does not mean it is outside the city. Still, the facilities are just as complete, and can be reached by metro or commuter train in a short time, only the hotel price is 'slightly' cheaper. Transportation in Tokyo In general, the mainstay of transportation in the city of Tokyo is the train. You can reach anywhere by train. There are also city buses, but as a tourist, ...

Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea

Gambar
Tokyo Disneyland has its own uniqueness. If we think that this theme park is a tourist attraction for families, in Japan it is a place for young people to date. Just dating? They say that if you are just dating, your new girlfriend must be taken to Tokyo Disneyland. Are you still single or just dumped? Yes, come to Disneyland with a group of single friends. It's no wonder that Japanese people can come to this theme park many times a year. If you want to read about other tourist attractions in Tokyo, please go directly to the Tokyo page. Moreover, they have their own 'madness' for Disney characters. Only here you can casually wear a hat with Minnie Mouse ears, wear Mickey clothes, play games to get a Chip and Dale doll, queue for 1 hour just to be able to take a photo hugging Mickey Mouse. Buy Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea Tickets There are 3 types of Disneyland/DisneySea tickets depending on your time and needs; Day Ticket, Starlight Passport, and After-6 Passport. Day T...

Hakone and Mount Fuji

Gambar
If you travel to Japan, of course it won't be complete if you haven't seen the famous Mount Fuji. Well, actually Mount Fuji can be seen from Tokyo, just climb the Tokyo Government Metropolitan Observatory on a clear day. But if we want to get closer, we have to get out of Tokyo. The most correct way is hiking up Mount Fuji. But of course this cannot be done by everyone because it requires planning and bringing hiking equipment. There are 2 ways that most people use to travel: to Hakone in the south of Mount Fuji or going to The Fuji Five Lakes (富士五湖, Fujigoko) in the north. Both offer close-up views of Mount Fuji and if you photograph Mount Fuji you can see it in full frame. If I finally decide to go to Hakone. Fuji Five Lakes Fuji Five Lakes is an area of 5 lakes at an altitude of 1000 meters above sea level, consisting of Lakes Kawaguchiko, Saiko, Yamanakako, Shojiko and Motosuko. This place is popular as a starting base for those who want to hike. The easiest and busiest...

Snowboarding at Yuzawa Niigata Ski Resort

Gambar
If you visit Japan from December to April, take the time to just play in the snow at the many ski resorts around Japan. You don't need to go all the way to Sapporo Hokkaido to see snow, the easiest snow play spots around Tokyo are Yuzawa (Niigata Prefecture), Hakuba (Nagano) and Karuizawa. All can be visited with a train journey of around 1-2 hours. In the Niigata area there are many ski resorts that you can choose from. Just look for which one is appropriate or close to your goals. The average ski resort in Japan charges ¥4500-5500 for a 1-day lift ticket, and there is a discount if you take a 2-day lift ticket. This is your ticket if you want to ski or snowboard. But if you just want to step on the snow or play at the snowpark, you usually only need to buy a gondola ticket for ~¥1500-2000. To go to Yuzawa or Karuizawa, you don't need to buy a JR Whole Japan Pass (29,000 yen), but just buy a JR East Pass Niigata (18,000 yen), it can cover the train trip from Tokyo to Echigo-Yu...

Travel Guide To Kyoto

Gambar
After enjoying sitting for almost 3 hours in the Shinkansen from Odawara (my trip to Mount Fuji and Hakone ) I finally arrived in Kyoto city, the city that was once the capital of Japan. If our image in the photos is that Kyoto is a traditional Japanese city, that image immediately disappears when we arrive at Kyoto train station. The station building is no different from those in Tokyo: modern and large, a terminus for the subway and shinkansen, and also integrated with the city bus terminal. Exiting the station, there are no signs that this city can be classified as traditional. Kyoto is also a modern city, the streets are wide, and of course crowded. Right in front of the station, there is even Kyoto Tower which looks like it towers alone among the other buildings in Kyoto city. Since I stayed at ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel , there was a free shuttle bus from Kyoto station to the hotel, which saved me quite a bit on transportation costs for 2 nights here. Moreover, this hotel is located ...
